The Director of Special Education is responsible for the provision of special education services and evaluations and Section 504. The Director oversees the IDEA (Individuals with Disabilities Education Act) grants and the Preschool For All grant.  The Director is responsible for the programming of students within the District, SEDOL (Special Education District of Lake County) and private placements. The department includes Special Education Teachers, Special Education Paraprofessionals, Psychologists, Social Workers, Speech Pathologists, Occupation Therapists, Physical Therapists, Adaptive PE Teacher, Hearing Specialist, Assistive Technology facilitator, Autism Specialist and Special Education Supervisors.

Pre-School Screenings for children 3-5 years of age.  Contact Jan Schnettler at (847) 599-5056 for information.  Screening Dates are August 23rd and February 3rd.
